Why Choose St. Andrew's Schools?

Our vision is to help children learn and grow – to be their personal best, engaged in the world and inspired to making it more humane and just.

Hawaiian Founding

King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma Kaleleonālani dedicated themselves to serving the health, educational, and spiritual needs of their people. Queen Emma's foresight and understanding that Hawaiian girls needed to have access to a high-quality education was the underlying base for the development of St. Andrew’s Priory School for Girls. Since the founding of The Priory 154 years ago, the school has grown to include The Prep (all-boys, K-6) and The Preschool (co-ed, ages 3-5).

Single Gender Education

Research indicates that girls and boys learn very differently and St. Andrew’s Schools embraces those differences by offering separate classrooms to enhance the educational experience of both boys and girls. We offer an all-girls education in grades K-12 and are the only K-6 all-boys independent school on O‘ahu.

Intentionally Small

Our 10:1 student/teacher ratio ensures that every child is encouraged to discover their most expansive and courageous selves. A more intimate campus environment than our peer schools – St. Andrew’s is a warm, welcoming 'ohana where family, community, and service are integrated into a holistic and fulfilling school experience.

College Bound Stats
  • Approximately 90% of the class of 2021 are college-bound.
  • The 27 girls from the class of 2021 are attending 22 different colleges and universities.
  • Class of 2021 awarded approximately $2.5 Million in Merit Scholarships

Social Emotional Learning

St. Andrew’s Schools has adopted the Yale’s RULER Approach to Social Emotional Learning (SEL) to serve as our foundation and springboard for developing emotional intelligence. When social emotional skills are strong students are more inclined to cooperate and collaborate with each other, and more apt to become confident learners, creative thinkers and compassionate leaders.

As parents we feel it's important for our son to have a robust educational experience. I was a student at The Priory and now my son is a student at The Prep. It feels good to give back to the place where my foundation began.
