Car/Booster Seat Safety InspectionHawaii's law requires properly restraining infants up to age 8. We discuss how age, height, behavior/health needs, and location of seat are major considerations. And yes, drivers can still be a cited for misuse; not just non-use.
We hope to assist people in checking for proper installation of car seats and boosters and help to spread the word about the latest findings regarding traffic safety.
- boosters now accommodate up to 10 years of age and 110 pounds
- each household can receive a $25 tax credit for the year on a purchase of a new one(s)
- making sure parents and children are knowledgeable of the seat belt fit test (when they are able to transition out of using a booster and how to minimize injuries if worn properly)
We hope that our efforts help to instill safe riding habits for our future drivers.
Educating our roadway community on how to travel safely to their destination.
