After School Care continues to provide St. Andrew's Schools students with a safe space for The Priory Lower School and The Prep students to go to when the school day is done. Students also have a variety of enrichment courses available to them so that they can explore interests, such as foreign languages, art, and dance while being in an environment with peers who share the same enthusiasm about a particular subject.

Music is offered through the chorus group, #ChorusLove. Led by Nora Oyama-Haugen, Lower Schools music teacher, #ChorusLove meets after school and learn about different types of music and how to sing as a group. The songs that Oyama-Haugen teach them is a collaborative effort as she is always open to suggestions by the students. With a handful of performances under their belt, last month the group, along with The Priory junior, ʻAleʻa Apostadiro, was invited to Washington Place for a 25-minute performance. With Governor Ige present in the front row, Apostadiro opened the program with a solo, "O Holy Night," followed by #ChorusLove singing two Christmas songs, "A Million Dreams" plus a spirited medley of Disney songs called "Disney Dazzle." Students and their parents were surprised that the governor took time to chat with #ChorusLove students before they went on stage. "I was so grateful for the opportunity and very thankful for the help of the chorus parents who provided dinner and supervise the chorus while returning back to the school," says Oyama-Haugen. "Participation in such a performance is just proof that music can take students to extraordinary, unexpected experiences and that students can uplift the souls in our community through song."

Another ASC program, Santa's Workshop, held during winter break, gave students the chance to create their own gifts to bring home for the holiday season. Alongside creating their own ornaments and picture frames, they had the chance to interact with their friends, have a sweet treat and participate in a photobooth. "Students were so enthusiastic to add their own personal touches to crafts and parents who were able to get a "sneak peek" (before they were wrapped and ready to go home) commented on the cuteness of their projects and how excited students were to participate," says Austin Hachmeister, ASC/Camp Coordinator.
