How did you get into your field? What made you want to pursue the career?

"I was re-entering the workplace full-time after being a home parent and mentioned to everyone that I was looking for work. I had heard The Priory was hiring and thought I'd throw my hat in the ring. It sounded interesting, and honestly, I was attracted to the fact that both of my daughters were attending school here and it could be very convenient for our family, all going to the same place every day."

What is your favorite part about your field/industry?

"I really enjoy meeting students and families and sharing with them the amazing things that are happening at our school."

Have you had previous careers/positions?

"I worked in the hospitality industry for almost 10 years before I had my children. I worked throughout different departments, but most recently as a human resources manager in the Risk Management Unit for Sheraton Hotels Hawaiʻi and as a guest services manager at the Sheraton Waikiki."

What is a current goal and/or project you are working on?

"I am always working on enrolling more students into The Prep and The Priory!"

What is the best part about working at SAS?

"I think our teachers are fantastic and make my job easier by providing such a rich experience for our students. I also enjoy the people I work with on a day-to-day basis."

Who or what inspires you?

"My parents have always inspired me throughout my life. As an adult, my husband and children inspire me. It's completely humbling to be inspired by your children. My husband just makes me a better person."

What is the best advice someone has given to you? Who was that person?

"I'm a pretty passionate person and can be a bit emotional. My father told me when I was younger that I had to learn to control my emotions. I didn't really understand why at the time, but I think that was great advice and I continue to heed it."

What is your wish for SAS and its students?

"Continued success for at least another 150 years!"

What is one interesting thing people may not know about you?

"I'm originally from the East Coast, Maryland, and I was a Division 1 college lacrosse athlete.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

"Being with my family, at the beach or hanging out at home. I also enjoy reading and baking."

Who is in your family?

"My husband, Pete, and I have been married coming up on 22 years. He is a police officer in the K9 Unit of the Specialized Services Division (SSD, same as SWAT) with the Honolulu Police Department.

We have two beautiful daughters, Jordan and Brooke. Jordan's a plebe at West Point and graduated from The Priory in 2018 as a daughter (attended since kindergarten). Brooke is currently in the sixth grade at The Priory and has been here since kindergarten. The only pet we have is my husband's K9, Hunter. He's a working dog, but we love him just the same as a regular pet!"
