What is the deadline to pre-order lunches?
Please go into EZ School Apps and pre-order lunches by 5:00 pm on Wednesday for the following week. For instance, if you want lunches during the week of September 7, you must place your pre-order no later than 5:00 pm on Wednesday, September 1. Pre-ordering is very important! Please make sure to meet the deadline each week.
Will I get charged if I pre-order lunch but my child is out sick from school on the day he/she was supposed to have lunch?
Pre-ordering helps Chef Jeremy anticipate the number of meals to prepare each day, but your account is not charged at the time of the pre-order. Funds are only deducted from the account when the ID card is swiped on the day of the lunch. So if a student (or faculty/staff member) is out sick on the day he or she pre-ordered lunch, no money is deducted from the account.
I am adding funds to my EZ School Apps account by submitting a check to the Business Office. When should I reload my account?
You don’t have to wait until the funds are spent before adding more money to your account. You can add money when the balance is getting low or at any time you choose.
We recommend making a larger payment by doing a rough estimate of the number of lunches you might want to purchase for the quarter or semester. That way, you won’t have to write checks or monitor your account balance frequently.
The Business Office (2nd floor of Transfiguration Hall, room 206) will accept cash and check payments Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Checks should be made payable to FoodStart LLC and include your child’s name in the memo line. Chef will then apply the cash or check payment to your child’s EZ Pay account. Please allow 48 hours from the time you drop off your check for the credit to appear in your child’s EZ Pay account.
What if I forget to reload my account and my child tries to purchase lunch when the balance is zero?
Students will not be denied lunch if they swipe their card and there is no money in the account. The account will simply reflect a negative balance. We ask that you submit payment as soon as possible.
What happens if I put money in the account but I have money left over at the end of the school year? Do we have to use up the money in the account by the end of the school year?
Money in the EZ School Apps account at the end of the school year can stay in the account to be used for the following school year. The money can also be refunded. To request a refund of unused funds in an account, please contact the Business Office at
accountingsupport@standrewsschools.org or (808) 532-2408. When emailing, please put in the subject line: Refund Request EZ School Apps. Either way, you won’t have to worry about losing money if you don’t spend it all this year!
What if a student needs to eat school lunch on a day that he or she has not pre-ordered a meal?
FoodStart will have a very limited number of extra meals available each day for those who may not have pre-ordered. Chef Jeremy and team will do their best to provide lunch for students who have not pre-ordered. That said, pre-orders are essential for their planning purposes and reducing food waste. It is best if parents, students, faculty, and staff get into a healthy habit of pre-ordering their school lunches by the deadline (5:00 pm on Wednesdays) and keeping their EZ School Apps accounts funded.
Where does my child get their ID card to swipe at lunch?
ID cards for students in the Lower Schools (Grades K-6) will be stored by their teacher. The cards will be distributed to each student who has pre-ordered lunch for that day and collected again by the teacher after. Upper School students (Grades 7-12) will be responsible for keeping track of their own ID card.
What happens if a student can’t find their ID card at lunchtime?
The student can present another form of ID or have a faculty/staff member vouch for them to verify first and last name. The FoodStart staff will manually deduct the funds from the student’s account. Please contact Camille Michel at
cmichel@standrewsschools.org right away if the card has been permanently lost so a new card can be issued.
What if my child has food allergies?
Allergens are listed in each day’s menu within EZ School Apps. Please review and make the student’s lunch choices accordingly.
