Anela Akana

For the third year in a row, Priory fifth graders have entered the annual Law Day Poster Contest sponsored by the Hawai'i Judiciary, and won! This year's theme was Your Vote, Your Voice, Our Democracy: The 19th Amendment at 100. Entries were judged on interpretation of the theme, originality, and visual impact. In the grades 3-5 category, Yunbin Ella Kim took third place, and Sanoe Harris took first place. They will receive certificates, medals, and have their artwork displayed in an Oahu courthouse. Since 1961, May 1st has been the official date for celebrating Law Day, which marks America’s commitment to the rule of law. The Law Day Art Poster Contest is part of the State of Hawai‘i Judiciary First Circuit Court’s commemoration of Law Day.
