Summer Construction at St. Andrew's Schools
Anela Akana

There has been a new addition to the school entrance at Queen Emma Square– a beautiful coral wall now faces Queen Emma Street, indicating that the school grounds extend from Queen Emma Street. Construction on the wall began in early July and only took a few weeks to complete. The wall is a component of the 2019 Campus Master Plan, meant not only to improve the safety of campus grounds by creating a distinct definition of school space vs. public space, and unifying the Queen Emma Square property, but also to provide a welcoming entryway. The construction of the wall was funded by donations from the Lin and Ella Wong Foundation, several anonymous donors, and an in-kind gift of coral from James Campbell Company LLC. The vision for the Queen Emma Square Campus is that it will be a downtown oasis for learning and the coral wall marks the entry to that oasis.
