Looking for another way to honor our founder, Queen Emma Kaleleonālani? Volunteer at The Queen’s Medical Center Gift Shop (both locations - Punchbowl and West Oahu)! If you have excellent customer service and communication skills, have the ability to work comfortably with money, are able to stand and walk for an extended period of time, and have a keen attention to detail, Queen’s needs YOU! The Gift Shop prides itself on serving customers with compassion, aloha, respect, and excellence. 
Volunteers are required to attend orientation and training from the Volunteer Office. Department specific orientation for the Gift Shop will be facilitated by a designated staff member. The designated staff member will complete a Department Specific Orientation and Competency Form and submit it to the Volunteer Programs office for the volunteer’s file. 
  • 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

  • Be punctual for your shift.
  • Operate cash register, credit card machine, merchandise scanner, copier, fax machine, scanner, phone, and helium tank.
  • Ability to work independently and/or with other volunteers or staff.
  • Provide a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
  • Responsible for handling business transactions.
  • Greet and offer assistance to all customers entering the Gift Shop.
  • Bag purchases, if needed.
  • Assist with return transactions.
  • Accuracy with handling money and processing sales.
  • Answer phones and take phone orders.
  • Assist in restocking and straightening up merchandise during down time.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Provide feedback to the store manager of any requests, complaints or inquiries concerning the Gift Shop.
  • Contribute to Gift Shop success by completing additional duties as needed.
